HISTORY OF THE ORBI FAMILY
The story of Basketball Club Orbi is a tale of passion, determination, and unity that started in the year 2000. It all began with a chance encounter between two basketball enthusiasts, Nino Kipshidze and Zviad Didbaridze, who were leading teams named “Orbi.” After realizing the shared identity, they decided to join forces and nurture young basketball talents together.
In 2016, their collective dream took a significant step forward with the official establishment of Basketball Club Orbi. Taking the helm as the director of the club was Tornike Giorgadze, a dedicated individual with a vision for the future. At its inception, the club had only one branch, but over the years, it flourished and expanded, uniting five branches under the Orbi name.
The journey of BC Orbi was marked by relentless dedication and hard work. One of their primary goals was to compete at the highest level, and to achieve this, they formed an A league team. For three years, they tirelessly strived to claim the championship title in the league, aspiring to secure a spot in the coveted super league.
In the year 2022, the stars aligned for BC Orbi when they made a significant partnership with Tkibuli City Hall. This collaboration became a turning point for the team. Fueled by their determination and the support of their community, BC Tkibuli Orbi achieved the ultimate feat—they became the champions of the A league. This victory not only brought glory to the club but also paved the way for them to enter the super league, marking a historic moment in their basketball journey.

Their vision and strategy were clear: they aimed to create opportunities for young talents to play at the professional level.
